The SA Sports Awards are brought to you by SASCOC and the Department of Sport & Recreation SA and proudly presented by SABC Sport.

These partners have embarked on the creation of the SA Sports Awards brand, in a bid to reward SA's sports stars for their efforts in keeping the passion of sport alive in the hearts of millions of South Africans, through their efforts in local or international sports events.

The South African Sports Awards have been created to recognise and honour individuals and teams who have excelled both on and off the field between 1st November and 31st October each year.

SA SPORTS AWARDS 2008

The 2008 5th Annual SA Sports Awards will be held in Bloemfontein for the second time in a row. The nominees list sees the who's who of South African sport from IBF Lightweight champion Cassius Baloyi, swimming sensation Natalie Du Toit and 2008 Olympic medalist Khotso Mokoena. Voting for the Sport Star of the year will start on the ** November 2008 and end promptly at midnight on the 27th November 2008.The SA Sports awards will be broadcast live on SABC 2 and 11 SABC radio stations at 9:30pm on November 28.
